New Year’s Eve Sushi

Have you ever made Sushi before? We hadn’t either, but now we can say we made sushi in 2012 thanks to our spontaneous, spunky brother and sis-in-law. What we were going to eat was kept as a surprise until we arrived at their house!

We wouldn’t dare show our creations to Jiro (Jiro Dreams of Sushi was our top docu of 2012 – watch it if you haven’t yet!) but we had so much fun. And we were in bed by 11pm. Love-ly!

Photo cred: All photos were taken by my brother. Aren’t they simply gorgeous?

  1. Looks yummy! Is this TM on picture#3? Which ingredients did you use to make them? (I spy carott, avocado, sesame seeds.)

  2. My first question was going to be WOW why have you never shared such amazing pics on your blog before and what camera are you using!? Great shots. Happy New Year!

    1. 🙂 I can’t take any credit for these! They are all my brother’s photos, taken on a Nikon D90 with a nifty 35mm / 1.8 lens.

  3. I love making sushi’s!! it’s so fun !! tried it in 2012 also 🙂 ! In french the rolled ones are called maki’s is that what it’s called in english? c’est une bonne activitĂ© en tout cas 🙂
